Carlos Santana To Publish Memoirs
Carlos Santana, the Grammy Award winning superstar, is soon to publish his life story. An agreement has been arranged with one of the USA's most distinguished publishing houses - Little, Brown and Co.
The publisher announced that the book will probably be released in 2014. At this stage it doesn't have a title, but two versions will be published, one in English and one in Spanish. In a comment from the legend himself, Santana said that he hopes that his story will "help readers discover the sanctity, grace and divinity in themselves."
It is expected that some of the biggest names in music history will be mentioned. Stories about Miles Davis and B.B. King to Eric Clapton, Herbie Hancock and Harry Belafonte are anticipated. Carlos Santana has been affected by some very significant public world figures. He is bound to write about some of these people "who have had a divine influence on his life, such as Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and Archbishop Desmond Tutu."
During his remarkable music career, Santana has won 10 Grammy Awards (from 1973 to present), 3 Latin Grammy Awards, and Rolling Stone magazine has listed him at number 15 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
He pioneered new sounds, including the combining of rock, Latin music and jazz, but more than that, his music shows blues-based guitar lines incorporating rhythms from other cultures. Experimentation with new instruments have led the way for other artists to try new ideas.
Santana is best known for the 1999 album, Supernatural, which won 9 Grammy Awards and sold over 27 million copies worldwide.
The recent album of 2010, Guitar Heaven, showcases his brilliant guitar work put to a list of very popular songs.
