Bush Releases The Music Video For 'The Sound Of Winter'

British post-grunge band, Bush, has just released the music video for the track The Sound of Winter – the second single to come off their latest studio album The Sea of Memories. The song has garnered strong commercial success, rising highly in many of the charts around the world, and even reaching the pole position in US Billboard Alternative Songs Chart. (To reach the number one spot, Bush displaced the Foo Fighters track Walk from the top - a landmark achievement!)

The music video begins with lead singer, Gavin Rossdale, walking along a beach very close to the water's edge. Not unusual except that he is rugged up in warm clothing, and the weather and scenery is very bleak – even though the clip is filmed in full colour.  After a short introduction with drum beats and guitar riffs, Gavin looks into the camera with a look of determination urging to be strong. As the song progresses, it is realised that the story behind this track is about being strong in mind and body during a low point in a love relationship. He sings, "Mind strong, Body strong / Try to find equilibrium / Head straight, screwed on / Been screwed up for too long."

Further on though the track, Gavin sings that he wants to "weather the storm" and think about happy times ahead. Cleverly in the video, sections are shown of happy times – maybe in the past, maybe in the future – and these happy times with people smiling and laughing are shown in vivid bright colour. The contrasting scenes are just so noticeable. With such a positive outlook, it would be hard to stay gloomy whatever the reason.

For post-grunge music, this song is going to make a lot of ears prick up. It is a track with a lot of appeal, able to be listened to by a huge range of audiences.
