"Burning In The Skies" Video Review

"Burning in the Skies" is the third single from Linkin Park's fourth album, "A Thousand Suns". The track is produced by Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin, while Joe Hahn directed the music video.

Filmed entirely in slow motion, the video shows a list of activities performed by random people, just before a critical moment. We can see a young boy playing with masks, an old man grieving the loss of a loved one, young people partying or a woman dealing with anorexia or a couple kissing.

The director builds up suspense right to the end of the video, when the surprise comes: a nuclear bomb is detonated and wipes out Los Angeles. The concept shows how people's lives, with all the good and the bad, are meaningless in the face of mortality.
