Bruce Springsteen Releases Details Of The 'Wrecking Ball Tour'
Bruce Springsteen has just released details of a 19 date "Wrecking Ball Tour" of the US beginning with a performance on 18th March in Atlanta, Georgia, continuing for the next few weeks around the US until the final show on 2nd May in Newark, New Jersey. The tour then moves over to Europe for the northern summer, visiting most countries and concluding in Finland at the end of July.
The E Street Band will be backing Springsteen for all the events, but without Clarence Clemons who sadly passed away last year. At this stage, no details are available about whether the legendary sax player will be replaced.
In the weeks leading up to the tour, Bruce Springsteen's next album will be released. Entitled Wrecking Ball, this will be his 17th studio album, and will be available from March 6 on Columbia Records. The album consists of eleven tracks with two bonus tracks. It's interesting to note that three of the songs on the album ("Wrecking Ball", "Land of Hope And Dreams" and "American Land") were previously performed only as live versions.
"We Take Care Of Our Own," is the first single off the album, and is a classic, gutsy Springsteen track with plenty of guitar work and great resounding drums. Rolling Stone like the "anguish and challenge [that] run thick and fast". Springsteen fans are getting more of what they want in lavish doses.
Just prior to the commencement of the US Wrecking Ball Tour, The Boss, this year, will deliver the keynote address at The South By Southwest Music and Media Conference and Festival (SXSW) on March 15.
