Britney Spears’ “Work B*tch” Single Leaks a Day Before Radio Debut
It seems that the countdown to Britney Spears’ latest single, a track called “Work B*tch,” came two days earlier than expected.
For those keeping track, Spears’ official website had a countdown clock leading to September 17, the song’s digital release date. “Work B*tch” debuts officially on iHeartRadio on September 16 at 6 p.m.
However, on September 15, the track found its way onto the internet, with PerezHilton.com picking it up. Unlike many leaks, which have poor quality audio, “Work B*tch” is rather clear, with all of its EDM elements and Spears’ heavily Auto-Tuned voice apparent. Listen to the leak here.
Spears teased elements of her “comeback” single over the last two weeks. First, she posted a few images from the music video shoot. Then, last week, she spilled the details on social media about who wrote and produced “Work B*tch.”
Five songwriters lent their talents: Along with Spears as a co-writer, the group includes Will.i.am, producer Otto Knows, Will.i.am, Ruth-Anne Cuttingham, and Anthony Preston. Producing this track are Will.i.am and Otto Knows, a protégé of Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso.
In addition to these details, Spears revealed the cover art, which shows her in a feathered shoulder covering and a V-neck leotard, and tweeted a few lyrics: "4 days people! Go call the Po-Lice! Go call the Governor! #WorkB."
