Britney Spears' Phone Calls and Internet Usage Monitored

Despite being one of the most successful singers in the world, she has little freedom. Britney Spears' Phone Calls and Internet Usage Monitored

The last few years have been challenging for Britney Spears but she continues to make strides for the better.  After her career and her life seemed to be spiraling out of control a few years ago, her parents stepped in and were granted conservatorship over her life, including her money and personal interactions.  Four years later, that protective measure remains in place, despite her desire to regain control.

The 30-year-old mother of two is now engaged to Justin Trawick, who was recently added to the list of people who can oversee her actions.  As a result, her cell phone and internet use is heavily restricted and monitored.  In fact, she doesn’t really have her own phone, she shares one with Trawick and, even then, it is routinely checked and any phone numbers known to be associated with her former manager, Sam Lufti, have been blocked.

Not hardcore enough?  Her family has also gone ahead and had certain websites restricted from her access because they do not want her exposed to any negative stories that could upset her.

The thing is that, we might have moved on, but Lufti hasn’t.  After the restraining order against him expired, he went ahead and filed a defamation of character lawsuit against her.  Spears was then forced to postpone her wedding.

Here’s the deal.  This all sounds pretty extreme but what’s the alternative?  Haven’t we all wished that Lindsay Lohan was lucky enough to have a family healthy enough to get involved?  Could the lives of Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson have been spared by this type of intervention?  We will never know but, surely, Britney Spears’ fans are glad she’s still around.
