Britney Spears Officially Reveals Las Vegas Residency, Album Release Date
Speculation circulated since the summer about Britney Spears’ potential Las Vegas residency. After all, it looked confirmed back in May, but since that point, the singer hadn’t spoken about it, although a publicist hinted she has been working with a vocal and choreographer – a sign she is preparing for a lengthy performance run.
This week, however, Spears gave the details to put any rumors to rest. The pop star appeared on Good Morning America on Tuesday, September 17, and proceeded to discuss the details of her run at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
According to the “I Wanna Go” singer, her two-year residency is called “Piece of Me” and will include 50 shows per year. Reports claim she will be earning $15 million per year for the line of shows.
If you’re interested in seeing Spears in Las Vegas, tickets went on sale this week. Deluxe packages apparently let you meet Spears, get signed memorabilia, or a VIP table. Her performances start on December 27.
Regarding her plans, the singer said during her interview: "I'm going to definitely do the greatest hits but I'm going to have to put some of my new material in it to just keep it fresh."
That’s not all in Britney news for this week. Spears mentioned the release date for her upcoming eighth studio album – December 3. However, at this time, the release remains untitled.
