Britney Spears Has a New Single Planned for Summer
Last year, Britney Spears’ latest release Britney Jean came and went. Maybe it was the fact that she claimed it was a very personal album, and its dance-tinged, robotic tracks tended to be anything but. Or maybe it was because the release had no stand out single. Yes, you still hear “Work B**ch” played these days, but how many of you actually remember “Perfume”?
But before Britney Jean came along, Spears scored a hit with a soundtrack contribution, “Ooh La La” for the Smurfs 2. Now it looks like she’s taking the same approach with a new single called “All The Way.”
Produced by Stargate, the new track is being released as a single from the upcoming movie Search Party. The rest of the soundtrack features contributions from LMFAO, Lil John, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and those who made Pitch Perfect’s a hit appear to be behind this offering as well. The film hits theaters by September 12, but the song is expected to drop in August.
Britney Jean was the singer’s first release on RCA Records after long-time label Jive dissolved in 2011. “Work B**ch,” charting at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, turned out to be a hit for the singer and a promising lead in, but “Perfume” only peaked at No. 76, and no subsequent tracks were released. The album has since peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Since the album’s release, Spears has been doing a two-year residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
