Britney Spears Former Manager Was Suicidal

After being accused of drugging Britney, her received death threats from her fans. Britney Spears Former Manager Was Suicidal

The Britney Spears trial is well underway with her former manager, Sam Lutfi, suing for unpaid wages and defamation of character.  This week, he has been testifying about how things turned sour between Spears, Lutfi and her parents and the details have been very interesting.

Lutfi claims that on January 28, 2008, he engaged in a war of words with Britney’s father, Jamie Spears.  The showdown, which took place less than a month after Britney was hospitalized for a mental breakdown for the first time, allegedly involved Jamie barging into the house and then lunging at Lutfi with balled fists and chasing him around the kitchen island.  "He was spitting, shouting and angry, saying I'd better leave Britney alone or he'd beat the hell out of me," Lutfi testified of Jamie.

That night, Britney’s security team removed Jamie from her home but he returned the following morning and was, again, allegedly yelling at Lutfi, accusing him of abusing Lynne (Britney’s mother) and then, after punching him in the chest, threatened to kill him.

While on the witness stand, Lutfi also broke down several times when discussing Lynne’s 2008 book in which she accused him of drugging Britney which, he claims, led to a "huge spike in death threats, mainly from Britney's fans."  Facing this public hatred left him feeling “depressed, anxious and suicidal.”

In response to these allegations, Jamie’s attorney has said that his client merely “touched” Lutfi to get his attention.  He also justifies his behavior saying that he was fighting for Britney’s life.

The trial continues…
