Britney Spears Engaged to “Criminal” Boyfriend Jason Trawick

According to Us Weekly, Britney Spears is engaged to Jason Trawick, the singer’s former manager who recently appeared in her “Criminal” music video. While neither Spears nor Trawick announced the news to the magazine, a source said: “This is something they've both wanted for a long time. It's a way to cement their family. They're both extremely happy and can't wait to become man and wife."

The engagement isn’t out of the blue. In April, a source told the magazine: "Britney has liked Jason for a long time. The fact that they were great friends gave them a foundation for a solid relationship."

After Us Weekly broke the news, Trawick officially confirmed their engagement. Spears, on the other hand, remained vague, conveying her happiness through a series of tweets on Friday and Saturday. She wrote: “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo

“Still glowing! About to jump on a plane to Planet Hollywood in Vegas. Throwing a Bday Party for Jason at Chateau Night Club. So fun. Xxoo

“Tonight was one of the most magical nights of my life. Such an amazing time with my new fiancé and our closest friends and family.”

Spears and Trawick met through business in 2006, when the pop star was married to Kevin Federline. Trawick represented her during that time and stayed with Spears after her divorce. Spears mentioned that her two sons like her “Criminal” co-star, and she, as well, is happy: "He makes me laugh, and we are so comfortable being ourselves. I've never been happier."
