'Body And Soul' Music Video Released To Support Amy Winehouse Foundation
Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse sing together in Amy's final video. The song is Body and Soul, a very popular track written back in 1930, and has become one of the most commonly recorded songs ever written. It was later used as the theme song to the 1947 film of the same name. Many recording industry mega-stars have since released their versions of the song, performers including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday and Frank Sinatra.
This duet with Tony Bennett was the final recording by the late Amy Winehouse. It shows the Rehab singer in her absolute best form as she reaches all the notes, sings the highs and sings with soul. It is truly a wonderful performance to remember her by.
Even the "ageless" Tony Bennett shows off his finest abilities yet.
The music video presents the duo singing in a studio, led by the sound of a grand piano. Both singers display their finest talents as they manage the high notes and low notes with the greatest of ease. The video has a relaxed jazz club feel about it.
The clip was released on 14th September, which would have been Amy's 28th birthday. Mitch Winehouse (Amy's father) has ensured that all funds from the track will go to benefit The Amy Winehouse Foundation – a charity "to support charities and organisations undertaking charitable activities in both the United Kingdom and abroad who help, support, or care for young people – especially but not exclusively those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage or addiction."
Further donations can be made by going to the foundation's website.
