The three Bs—B.o.B., Big K.R.I.T and Bun B—serve up an old school-tinged Southern banger with “5 On The Kush.”

The song, which samples the Five Stairsteps’ classic, “We Must Be in Love,” is an ode to the fun, if not reckless, practices of substance abuse and abandon.

“5 on the Kush, 20 on the drank, so loaded in the club, that a n***a can’t think,” repeats a bassed-out voice on the chorus before B.o.B enters with a horny rant.

“It’s whatever, I’ll never let up, I never felt better, got a house full of freaks and they don’t never say never,” raps B.o.B.

Big K.R.I.T. follows in B.o.B.’s frantic lead.

“Some woofers in my cushion, what’s a trunk if it don’t knock, DJ on the dash, if I want it, then I cop,” asserts Big KRIT.

As the hip-hop veteran in the trio, Bun B’s verse is the best. His smooth flow rides like a soft stream, making it seem more like easy listening than hip-hop—in a good way.

“Gettin’ older, but I’m colder, better with age, like a fine wine, killer on the mic like primetime, cut out your lights and let mine shine.” B.o.B and Big K.R.I.T. may be overzealous in their drug and/or alcohol-induced hazes, but Bun remains cool; he can handle his liquor, or weed, or purp, whichever he may prefer.
