Blue Ivy Carter Sets Record as Youngest Person Credited on Billboard Chart

Just days into the world, Blue Ivy Carter – the daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z – is a record-setting recording artist who has already stirred up her share of controversy. Not that she realizes it yet. Billboard reported that Blue Ivy, who appears on Jay-Z’s recent track “Glory,” is the youngest ever person credited with a recording on the Billboard charts. Released Monday, just 48 hours after Blue Ivy appeared, “Glory” samples the baby’s cries and breathing and is already No. 74 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The song, as well, is Jay-Z’s 107^th entry on the Billboard charts.

Yet, Blue Ivy isn’t the only infant to make a debut recording. Stevie Wonder included his then-newborn daughter Aisha in “Isn’t She Lovely.” Wonder’s daughter, however, was never credited on the song.

According to reports, intense security guarded Jay-Z and Beyonce’s hospital stay – to the point that patients in the neonatal unit of Lenox Hill hospital complained and spoke to the gossip magazines. Can you guess which came first? While the hospital announced an investigation, magazines like Us Weekly reported that the star couple paid over $1 million to take over an entire floor. Patients supposedly were blocked from the neonatal unit for hours by security guards. A patient said: "Once they checked in there was high security everywhere. It looked like the president was on our floor. The hospital's security cameras were taped over. Internal windows from the hallways into the ward were blacked out."

But, who can blame them? Considering Blue Ivy is one of the most anticipated celebrity babies, the paparazzi would have been storming the hospital just for a picture. The hospital denies the extreme treatment for the celebrities, but now, talk of a specially-constructed double suite in the hospital has surfaced. A hospital worker told Us: "A month ago, [workers] tore down 6-8 rooms and turned them into 2 suites. […] [They] paid to have it constructed just for them."
