"Blow" Video Review

Ke$ha's new video for "Blow" is unicorn-licking-fun. The singer took the path of hilarity with the help of director Chris Marrs Piliero.

Opening with a clear statement: "No mythological creatures were harmed in the making of this video", the video centers around the epic battle between Ke$ha and her archenemy, actor James Van Der Beek ("Dawson's Creek").

The fight begins after a short exchange of words ("Well, well, well. If it isn’t James Van Der Douche." and "I don't appreciate you slander-Beeking my name, Ke dollar sign ha."). They both remove their brassieres and begin the laser shooting action. The casualties are great, many unicorns are shot, while rainbows are bursting from their chests, making Katy Perry's "Firework" look like a rainy 4th of July.

In the end, Van Der Beek's head is mounted on the wall, to the delectation of Ke$ha and the laughing unicorn.

"I think the more you try to come up with a logical explanation for it, the more frustrated you’re gonna get. Just kick back and enjoy. The credit for anything you like about the video has to go to the director, Chris Marrs [Piliero]. He came up with the concept, wrote the dialogue, shot it", Van Der Beek stated about the music video.
