Blake Shelton Unhappy with "Voice" Producers
The Voice has surprised many by its popularity but it’s undeniable – audiences love this show! NBC has announced that the third season of the reality singing competition will be airing later this year and Blake Shelton feels that two seasons in one year might be just a little overwhelming.
All of the judges have signed on, no one is threatening to leave the show, but Shelton, along with Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green have their own touring schedules to consider. It’s not like those earlier seasons of American Idol where none of the panelists were active performers. All of the judges on The Voice are still making music.
Shelton said: "At some point something's got to give. I've been very vocal with the network and Mark Burnett's production company that I don't like it. They need to think about what the [taping schedule] means to all of us. I love doing it and I hope to continue doing it forever. But they have to work with me so I can also tour. I just think taping two seasons a year is too much. The four of us cannot remain viable artists if we're taping back-to-back seasons of the show."
"I look forward to it and I love doing it. I can't imagine not being a part of The Voice."
That’s good because audiences aren’t ready for it to be over!
