Blake Shelton Shares Country Wish for American Idol

Is the country judge on "The Voice" right about needing someone on "American Idol?" Blake Shelton Shares Country Wish for American Idol

The American Idol judges’ panel shake up this summer has had a lot of people talking.  First Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler left, then Mariah Carey joined and then Randy Jackson also left.  That leaves a lot of empty seats which has led to much speculation.

Blake Shelton, who is a judge on The Voice, has decided to share his opinion about what should happen.  There has been some chatter about the possibility that the execs over at Idol are considering asking someone like Brad Paisley, Keith Urban or Toby Keith to join the show and Shelton believes it would be the right decision.

He explained: "I hope they choose a country artist.  If you watch those shows, it's the country artists who go on to have big careers, because the country fan base is the most loyal in the world. If they see someone on 'The Voice' or 'Idol,' they don't care if they win or lose. They wait for the album to come out, and they demand music to come out from that artist."

He definitely has a point.  When you look at Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Bucky Covington, Lauren Alaina and more, it’s easy to see what he’s talking about.  Even Kelly Clarkson has gone country, touring the globe with Reba McEntire!

So far, Toby Keith is said to have turned down an offer which puts Paisley and Urban in the running.  Both have been pretty quiet about the rumors.
