Black Eyed Peas To Take A Break
Worldwide phenomenon, The Black Eyed Peas, has made an announcement that they will be taking an indefinite break, with no plans to release any new material for probably about four years. The band made the announcement in England at the Alton Towers resort gig, where Fergie said, "This is a very special show for us, because it is the last time we’re going to be in England for a long time. We want you to know that we love you and thank you for the support you’ve given from the beginning."
She continued, explaining that they took a break in 2005 after the release of Monkey Business, and they came back in 2009. Just to quell any rumours of the band splitting up, will.i.am added a further remark explaining much the same information, and commented that, "it doesn’t mean we stop creating."
The band's world tour will come to an end fairly soon so that they can go off to work on their own projects for a while. It is known that will.i.am is going to be managing Cheryl Cole with her solo career after moving on from judging on X Factor in the US. Talking with Heat magazine, will.i.am said that Cheryl is, "potentially going to be working with artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, Usher and, of course, the Peas."
Some music critics have been harsh with their comments of some of the BEP's latest work, saying that since 2003 most of their music has been just commercialism aimed at the mainstream market. No longer have they been making music creatively. The critics have slammed Boom Boom Pow and The Time (Dirty Bit) as just being money making exercises – but it if you look at the record sales, the fans obviously love it.
Everyone needs a rest, especially after performing and touring the world since 2009.
