Big Time Rush Release Music Video for 'Worldwide'

Nickelodeon Boy Band, Big Time Rush, Release Music Video for 'Worldwide' Set Inside An Airport Terminal Big Time Rush Release Music Video for 'Worldwide'

US pop group, Big Time Rush, has just released a new music video for the track Worldwide. Reminiscent of the Backstreet Boys I Want It That Way clip, the "Worldwide" video is set inside an airport terminal with the BTR boys singing the sad words of parting when a loved one checks-in for a flight.

Katelyn Tarver (Jo from the Nickelodeon show) is the lady-love departing with her suitcase rolling behind her as the BTR boys sing: "Wait a minute before you tell me anything/ How was your day?/ 'Cause I been missing/ You by my side, yeah." The four guys are even dressed in white inside the airport, similar to BSB - although BTR are perhaps dressed a little more elegantly.

Numerous critics have been a bit down on BTR for their take on the 90s video, and wishing that a little more imagination had gone into this modern clip. But criticism aside, those who love the song are even more pleased to be able to watch their heroes while they sing.

The Big Time Rush band is part of the Nickelodeon show of the same name, and the sitcom follows the lives of four hockey players after they form a pop group. The series was telecast first in 2010, and arrangements for a third series have just been finalized, with production of Series Three beginning at the start of 2012. The story involves the recording of their debut album, but also shows all the problems they have with all the fun on the way.

I dont think it really matters if the BTR "Worldwide" video is similiar to BSB's "IWITW" video- the video was good. I'm a fan of both bands and i really love their songs. I think that BTR did really great in this video. On my recorded shows, when i see the video, I have to play the video over and over again at least seven times! I always get kind of sad when I see the video because it's really sweet. Kendall, Carlos, Logan, and James are great singers and they rocked at this video! I love watching their sho

And besides. The two video's are different in so many ways that it doesnt matter that they are at an airport and wearing white clothes. Those are the only two things they may have copied, but other than that theres nothing.

With all due respect, I'd have to completely and 100% disagree with the comparison to the BSB "IWITW" video. I was an avid BSB fan back in the day (okay, I was obsessed), and after just watching this video for the first time, I made no connection whatsoever with BSB until I read the last line of the article, under the video. Then I scrolled up and actually READ the article...and laughed at the comparison. Maybe it's because this video immediately reminded me of my long-distance relationship, and that though

*that thought had me completely pre-occupied. Regardless, what counts is the message/theme of the video, not the logistical details. BSB didn't really have a theme/message - the song was pretty vague, and there wasn't much going on other than the guys singing/dancing/performing for their audience. Not to say IWITW isn't a great song or video - I still love BSB!

But at least BTR had a message, and the video told a story: long-distance relationships bite, and we see actual characters evolve here, if ever-so-shallowly. THAT makes the biggest difference in the world, and that is what I am going to remember about this video 5-10 years from now when the next big boy-band dresses in white and dances in an airport terminal. xD
