Beyonce to Perform At Super Bowl XLVII
While Super Bowl in itself is reason enough to get excited for, next year's version will have the added attraction of R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles. The Associated Press were the first to reveal that Queen B will be performing during Super Bowl XLVII's halftime show and the NFL confirmed it shortly thereafter.
"Beyonce will perform @pepsi #SB47 Halftime Show in New Orleans. Feb. 3 2013 on @cbs," the event's official account tweeted before the NFL retweeted the same message to its followers.
The singer herself has also confirmed her participation in the event by releasing a picture which shows her sporting NFL-style eye blacks below her eyes. The two patches have the words 'Feb 3' and '2013' written on it which is the date of Super Bowl XLVII.
B will take over from artists such as Madonna, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., all of whom performed at this year's Super Bowl XLVI, which was a massive success. The entire broadcast was watched by an estimated audience of 111.3 million, making it the most watched program of any kind in the history of American television.
Meanwhile, British tabloid The Mirror has claimed that the "Halo" singer will also be making an appearance in this season's final episode of "The X Factor" (UK). Their claim is based on the fact that the show's creator Simon Cowell is a great admirer of contestant Ella Henderson's voice and he believes a duet featuring her and Beyonce in the finale would be perfect.
