Beyonce Announces Remix Contest for Song "End of Time"
Have you ever wanted to produce a pop star’s song? Now’s your chance. On Wednesday, Beyonce announced a remix competition for 4 track “End of Time,” which is predicted to be her next single.
The first announcement since the birth of daughter Blue Ivy Carter, the competition requires fans to submit their final remixes through BeyonceOnline.com, where parts of “End of Time” can be downloaded. Partnering with the competition, Soundcloud is the judging platform, offering users an opportunity to vote on the best remix. The winner receives a $4,000 prize and inclusion on the singer’s next release. Although the “Run The World (Girls)” singer is reportedly working on her fifth album, Billboard seems to think “End of Time” is Beyonce’s next official release, and the single will be added to the tracklisting.
Remixes aside, “End of Time” has already charted, with digital sales the sole force behind figures. At the moment, the track is No. 13 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.
While the remix contest is Beyonce’s first announcement since giving birth, her first public appearance occurred last Monday at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club, right after his Carnegie Hall concert. Blue Ivy, on the other hand, wasn’t present at the event, but her first pictures were released through Tumblr. The Beyonce- and Jay-Z-approved blog (helloblueivycarter.tumblr.com) features photographs of Blue Ivy released by the couple themselves – not sold to the paparazzi, which is common for celebrity babies. First pictures of Blue Ivy were speculated to go for a few million dollars. Aside from the Tumblr page, photos of their child appear on both artists’ personal websites. Blue Ivy, while not appearing for a month, is the youngest person credited on the Billboard charts after being featured in new Jay-Z track “Glory.”
