Beyonce and Jay-Z Share First Pictures of Blue Ivy Carter

A month after the birth of their first daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce and Jay-Z have shared the first pictures of the family's new addition on Tumblr.

The message on the top of the page reads:

"We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives."

While most high-profile couples cut million dollar deals selling pics to supermarket glossies, the couple has decided to take the more intimate approach. (Maybe a response to the backlash the pair received from other patients in the neonatal unit of Lenox Hill Hospital after the couple paid over $1 million to take over an entire floor of the hospital?)

One of the most anticipated celebrity babies, Blue Ivy has already set a record as the youngest ever person credited with a recording on the Billboard charts with the release of Jay-Z's recent track, "Glory."

After the release of the photos, the NY Daily News reported how fans have taken to Twitter to comment:

"Blue Ivy is FLAWLESS like Beyonce, and she looks like her mom," wrote @beyonceland.

Twitter user @JennsDrunk agreed, "That baby looks like Beyonce had a baby with Beyonce."

The newspaper also reports that the couple turned down a reported $14 million for the first pictures of their newborn.
