Best Coast To Appear On Upcoming New Found Glory LP
In a recent Twitter post, New Found Glory have revealed that their upcoming studio album will feature a female vocalist: Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino. The singer/guitarist was brought into the studio to lend her skills to a yet-to-be-named track for the Florida quintet's seventh album titled "Radiosurgery". Currently recording, the group's guitarist Chad Gilbert wrote on the band's website in regards to the addition.
"We are totally pumped to have her guest on our record," he said. "We have been big fans of her band for a while now."
Gilbert continued to comment on the collaboration noting that New Found Glory met Best Coast with Cosentino and co. performed at the Troubadour in Hollywood, California, contrary to the frontwoman's friendship with the guitarist's girlfriend, Paramore's Hayley Williams.
"It's refreshing when you meet a band you love that inspires you and they are actually cool people too!" wrote Gilbert. "If you haven't heard their new album "Crazy For You" yet you are truly missing out. It rules!"
New Found Glory have been busy in the studio for close to three weeks working on recording Radiosurgery, a release Gilbert said that's "the most upbeat, fun record" the band has ever recorded. The group announced the upcoming album on May 12th and a release date has yet to be determined. Meanwhile Cosentino and Best Coast are working on a follow-up to 2010's "Crazy For You", a debut album that's received high praises from publications such as Pitchfork, Mojo and The Los Angeles Times.
