After all these years, the 'Abbey Road' album, by the Beatles is still the top-selling vinyl record in the US. 'Abbey Road' was released back in 1969 (as a vinyl then), and even in these days of the compact disc (CD), the vinyl LP is still selling. In 2011, 41,000 vinyl LPs were sold in the US.
