Beach Boys May Reform to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

According to former singer Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys may reform to celebrate 50 years of their music Beach Boys May Reform to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Brian Wilson recently said that he was planning to retire from live performances in 2012 in an interview with BBC 6 music. That was then, as it appears that the old rocker has changed his mind, as he has announced that he is thinking about reforming the Beach Boys with the last surviving members of the band. Should this happen, this will be the first time the Beach Boys have been a true band for 15 years. The last occurrence was when they recorded their last album, Stars and Stripes Vol.1 in 1996.

Since then the members of the Beach Boys have gone their separate ways and Brian Wilson has toured extensively as a solo artist. He gives the impression that he is somewhat put off from a reunion as in an interview he refers to the band members as zany.

When responding to the question would he ever play with the Beach Boys again, he said: "Im considering it. I don't know yet but I'm considering it. Nothing's really holding me back. I just don't know if I want to be around those guys you know. Theyre zany guys. Theyre crazy."

Brian Wilson is currently performing his Brian Wilson Re-imagines Gershwin tour with his band. He performs a selection of his own and Gershwins music.
