Backstreet Boys and NKOTB Debut New Song 'Don't Turn Out The Lights'
These are exciting times for the fans of 'New Kids On The Block' and 'Backstreet Boys,' who are set to go on a joint road-tour across the country. The fans were given an early preview when on Monday; a video was released online which revealed the first song made by the two groups, collectively known as NKOTBSB in the media.
In the video, AJ Mclean can be seen telling the fans, "I'm gonna tell you guys, 'Don't turn out the lights now.' Press play." The high-tempo track named "Don't Turn Out the Lights," features Brian Littrell, AJ Mclean and Jordan Knight.
The trio sang, "I know we haven't been getting along/ I don't want to say goodbye/ Memories come flooding back/ I love you like that/ We can get it back again/ Don't turn out the lights now."
The song preview is cut short by Mclean after which he explains, "We can't play the whole thing, just 'cause with the tour coming up. It's a sample."
At fans' request, Mclean and Littrell do seem interested in playing the song one more time, but their lawyer prohibits them from doing so due to contractual obligations.
So far, the bands have mostly kept their material under wraps and have ignored questions regarding the official release of their songs.
With a large cast of nine members to manage, the new project is working at a slow pace. Back in November, Joey McIntyre had admitted that while this problem exists, it will eventually be very fruitful for both the groups.
"It's tough getting these guys in the studio, these young cats. Well, it's honestly, it is tough to get everybody together. Yes, we have lots of great intentions," McIntyre had said.
