Howie Dorough, best known as a member of the Backstreet Boys, will join Britney Spears on tour to promote his solo album. Backstreet Boy Joining Britney Spears on Tour

Britney Spears might have been romantically linked to N*SYNC lead singer, Justin Timberlake, in the 90s but she’s now giving a member of her former boyfriend’s rival band, Backstreet Boys, an opportunity to return to the spotlight.

Howie Dorough of BSB fame will be joining Spears on the South American leg of her “Femme Fatale” tour next month where he will perform as an opening act.  From November 20-28, 2011, Dorough will be showcasing songs from his solo debut album, “Back to Me.”

The boy band member tweeted: "I'm so excited that I'm going [to be] joining @britneyspears on several dates of the Femme Fatale tour! Can't wait to see all my lovelies in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela!! VIP info will be coming next week."

After his run with Spears, Dorough will be teaming up once again with his fellow Backstreet Boys for a very special performance in December in the Bahamas where fifth member, Kevin Richardson, will be returning to the group.  After leaving the group in 2006, Richardson told Ryan Seacrest recently: "I would love to perform with them again on a more regular basis. Our chemistry when we come together just feels like old times."

Dorough will be keeping himself busy promoting his album as well as joining the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block for a European tour next spring.
