Axl Rose’s $200,000 Worth of Stolen Jewelry Returned
Earlier this week, $200,000 worth of jewelry was stolen after an after party in Paris. The new lineup of Guns N’ Roses played at Bercy Stadium in the French capital, and a private performance followed. After the private performance, Rose reportedly appeared angry – he was described as “fuming” – and was not wearing any of the jewelry, which consisted of $200,000 worth of gold necklaces with diamonds.
Since that point, the jewelry was recovered and an arrest made. Apparently, a woman present at the private performance returned the jewelry, claiming she didn’t know how she ended up with it.
Guns N’ Roses recently finished the U.K. leg of their tour. Ending on June 1, however, the trek hasn’t gone as well as hoped. Fans reportedly threw pint glasses and money at the stage during one show, and at the O2 Arena, in London, fans showing up with shirts displaying images of Slash, the group’s former guitarist, were turned away or told to change. Additionally, the band had been showing up late to gigs. Their next performance is on June 8 in Germany.
Fans have been disappointed that the last album and recent tour have been described as a “reunion,” although Slash has not returned. The guitarist addressed this concern with Howard Stern, recently. Speaking on Stern’s radio program, Slash said: “They’re in the multi-million [range]. It’s just not gonna happen. It’s not worth it.”
Would you like the original Guns N’ Roses to reunite? And, what do you think of the concertgoer who returned Axl Rose’s jewelry?
