Avril Lavigne Excited to be Reunited with L.A. Reid

Music producer L.A. Reid is one of the most respected names in the music industry and has worked with the likes of Kanye West, Pink, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and more. Singer Avril Lavigne broke in to the music scene being mentored by L.A. Reid, however the two lost touch when things in Avril’s music career changed and she was given a new team.

She’s spoken about how she misses working with him because she’d never had a connection with anyone else quite like what she had with L.A..he was the executive producer at Island Def Jam Music Group until just recently, and now he has become the president of Epic Records, allowing Avril to work with him again.

Avril gushes, "It's really exciting for me, because L.A. Reid signed me. He met me when I was 15, and he signed me on the spot. We did my first album together, and it was really successful and then what happens in the record industry, you know, changes are made. We didn't get to work together, and I was so bummed out, 'cause I never had that connection with anyone ever again, like, my whole career at the record company."

Throughout their time apart, Avril and L.A.would run in to each other and talk about how much they wished they could get together and make music. Now that he has taken over Epic Records the two have been working together again.

Avril reveals plans for an upcoming album, "We're also starting music for a new record for 2012. So I feel, like, really re-inspired, and I feel like it happened at the right time, 'cause I was really discouraged with record-company stuff on my last album. It was not something I was looking forward to dealing with again. Now I'm so excited."
