Ashley Tisdale Still Unsure of New Album’s Direction
Known for High School Musical and other Disney Channel fare, Ashley Tisdale released two albums at the height of her fame. For a while, it looked as if Tisdale turned her direction toward acting, with a role on Hellcats and then popping up in television and film, but in a recent MTV News interview, she revealed she has returned to the studio to possibly record a follow-up to 2009’s Guilty Pleasure.
Single “You’re Always Here” came out recently, but the singer admits she doesn’t know where the actual album is going – if there will actually be a full-length release and not, instead, a group of singles. She explained: "I'm still trying to find exactly where I want to go with that. I've been heading towards a specific direction and I think that's where I'm going to be. It's obviously still pop and we've been playing with more dance pop. My last album was pop rock, so I definitely kind of have been more into the dancier type of pop songs. It's definitely heavily pop for sure."
Instead, the actress who started in commercials and on Broadway has been spending time in the studio to find her sound.
That doesn’t mean her acting career is being neglected, however. Tisdale has recently popped up on Super Fun Night and The Crazy Ones and is producing a Disney Channel movie, titled Cloud 9. For film, she and Vanessa Hudgens will be working together on The Great Migration.
