Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J Collaborate on New Single “Bang Bang”
Three new albums, one new single: News emerged over the last day that three of the hottest artists over the past two years – Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Jessie J – are collaborating on a new song. Could this be the “Lady Marmalade” of the 2010s?
The song is called “Bang Bang” and is set to come out on July 29. According to statements, Max Martin, Ilya, and Savan Kotecha produced the track.
With three artists releasing albums by the end of the year, the question arose about whose the single will appear on. Right now, “Bang Bang” seems destined for Ariana Grande’s My Everything and the U.S. edition of Jessie J’s Alive. There’s no word if it will be on Nicki Minaj’s The Pink Print.
Out of all these, Grande’s sophomore effort has a release date of August 25, while Minaj’s and Jessie J’s albums should come out before the end of the year.
For Jessie J, the international version of Alive dropped in September 2013, and since peaked at No. 3 on the U.K. Albums chart and went gold. However, a reworked version for American audiences had been delayed, although reports claim the singer moved to the U.S. and had been working with Pharrell. In the U.K., the album spawned hits “Wild,” “It’s My Party,” and “Thunder” and featured a handful of collaborations.
