Ariana Grande Hints at New Single “Break Free,” Featuring Zedd
EDM producer Zedd is hot these days, after his own single “Clarity” and Hayley Williams collaboration “Stay The Night,” and Ariana Grande has already had two singles make it into the top 10, so a collaboration seems in order.
As Grande is readying her sophomore studio album, she announced new single “Break Free” on Twitter. June 21, she posted: "the loves waiting for #breakfree (yes that's the new single name... yes it's the 1 w @zedd) more details soon."
And followed it with a countdown clock for the next 10 days. We’ll have to see what surfaces on July 1, but from the looks of it, “Break Free” seems bound to be a hit.
Grande’s career took off in 2011, and out of the singles she has put out, two have landed in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10 spots. “The Way,” featuring Mac Miller, was a cut off 2013’s Yours Truly and went onto reach No. 9. This year, “Problem,” with Iggy Azalea, peaked at No. 2.
Her new release will follow Yours Truly, which came out on Republic Records. Aside from “The Way,” the No. 1 album included singles “Baby I” and “Right There.” Grande tied Ke$ha’s record for a debut album securing the No. 1 spot, and since then, the release has gone double platinum.
