Ariana Grande Announces First Single from Sophomore Album
We’ve been waiting for a new track from Ariana Grande for a while – especially as a sophomore album to follow last year’s Yours Truly has been in the works. Right now, while the details are scant, the singer tweeted an announcement for the title of her sophomore release’s first single.
She wrote: “the first single is called #problem…… that’s all I can say for now.”
A release date hasn’t been revealed, and as far as we know, there hasn’t been any kind of preview or teaser put out on YouTube or Soundcloud. However, the singer took an unconventional approach to give fans a hint about the track’s character. Apparently, she played the song for a dance class and put a video of their dancing on Instagram. While it looks to be an uptempo track, there’s one major catch – the video has no audio.
There doesn’t appear to be a release date for her sophomore album yet, either, but manager Scooter Braun spoke about it on Twitter, saying: “Miss @arianagrande is coming with the new album and coming strong. New look and big records,” he tweeted. “This album is about to slap u in the face! Amazing.”
Yours Truly opened on top of the Billboard 200. Singles from the album included “The Way,” a collaboration with Mac Miller, “Baby I,” and “Right There.”
