Are One Direction Already Planning Their Fourth Album?
One Direction’s third album Midnight Memories isn’t even in stores yet, but sources are saying that the boy band, which just signed a large contract with Syco, are already planning their fourth release.
Currently finishing up the Take Me Home tour, with dates in Australia, in support of their latest album, the boy band has been honing their songwriting skills. To support their upcoming release, the Where We Are tour is scheduled for 2014, and they’re apparently planning to record on the road, according to a source to The Sun.
The source explained: “It's going to cost a few quid but then considering the amount of cash they're making on the tour, they can afford it. The boys are all writing more and more themselves these days so it will allow them to develop as songwriter.”
At the same time, the five-piece act just signed a $10 million contract with Simon Cowell’s label, which is expected to cover them through 2015 or 2016. The source said to the tabloid: “This is a big deal for Simon and the lads. It shows confidence that they have a long-term future and that a split or members going solo is highly unlikely. It will easily keep them busy until the end of 2015 and probably 2016 too. They’ll get a big upfront payment worth millions then much more from record sales, tours, brand tie-ins and merchandise.”
