Are Adele and Prince Collaborating on New Material?
Rumors have started circulating that Adele and Prince are collaborating together on a song that could be on the 21 star’s next album.
According to a source to The Sun, the “Someone Like You” singer was spotted at Prince’s show at Ronnie Scott’s in Soho – part of his U.K. trek of gigs. However, unlike the other A-listers in the audience, Adele wasn’t around for long. Apparently, she was there to talk about music only.
The source said: “The reason Adele only stayed a short time at Prince’s gig at Ronnie Scott’s in London was because it was just a business meeting and she had to get home. They want to work together for a track on her next album.”
Prince isn’t the only collaborator expected. Phil Collins looks to be involved, as do producers James Ford and Kid Harpoon.
21 is, so far, the most successful album of the century, so listeners have been wondering when a follow-up comes out. Another source mentioned to The Sun that this could be sooner than expected: “Label bosses are getting very excited and word has spread around the industry like wildfire to expect Adele’s new material imminently.”
Not everyone says Adele’s presence at Prince’s show was to talk business. A rep of hers told Mail Online that she was simply in the audience to enjoy the performance.
