Amy Winehouse to Play Spain’s BBK Live Festival
British soul singer Amy Winehouse has confirmed that her first European festival appearance will be at Spain’s BBK Live festival in Bilbao between July 7- 9th. Other artists which are currently on the bill are Crystal Castles, The Chemical Brothers, Jack Johnson, and The Black Crowes. British pop band Coldplay are also headlining on one of the days. A full line up can be viewed here.
This will not be the first gig of 2011 for Amy Winehouse, who played in Brazil earlier this month.
The tour will hopefully follow an album from Amy Winehouse, whose last offering was Back to Black in 2006 which became immensely popular and won the singer numerous awards.
After the success of Back to Black which won critical acclaim, the singers fortunes turned somewhat after a string of drink and drug abuse which saw her cancel gigs, check into a rehab clinic, and delayed the new record by a few years.
There is no real information concerning the new album other than it features a duet or two. Reports of one with Cee Lo Green have recently been revealed. The new album if rumours are true has been finished, and so a release should be imminent.
If the new album materialises and the tour goes ahead, then the Spanish date will be run of several and a world tour may ensue on the back of the new record, in which case, Amy Winehouse will have a busy 2011. Critics and fans are keeping their fingers crossed that the new album has been worth the wait.
