Ameriie To Pre-Release Single Ahead Of Next Album 'Cymatika Vol. 1'

US singer, Ameriie, is about to release the first single from her fifth upcoming studio album Cymatika Vol. 1. The first single to soon be released to radio is the track "Firestarter".

In a recent interview, Ameriie talked about two of the songs which will be on the new album. The first song she discussed, "Run for Cover", is about how we as humans hide or suppress who we really are and how we often hold back our ideas. Hence we are always running away looking for cover. We are not really running from others so much as running from ourselves. Eventually you run out of places to hide unfortunately. You really can't run from your true self.

Another song on the album is the track "Sodom and G" (as in Sodom and Gomorrah). The song compares the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah with a broken relationship. In a biblical sense, when looking back at the previous relationship, one can see all that is left behind. In the interview, Ameriie also describes more details about the song, pointing out how she uses a lot of layers in her writing.

Applied to all of her work, it shows how she gives a lot more depth and meaning to the songs.

In the upcoming album, a few different types of music have been embedded in the sound this time. There is some trance, some electronic and some 80's new wave, and with the vocals, the sound at times is almost unlike her voice.

Cymatika Vol. 1 is ultimately a continuation and projection from the 2007 Because I Love It album. Back then Ameriie was a single woman. Now she has just married, and things are different because a relationship is involved. As she said, "Relationships are very important to talk about … Not just only from a romantic aspect, but what it is that makes us tick."
