'American Idol': Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal to Mentor Top 8 Contestants
The Fox hit musical series, American Idol, has enlisted the help of No Doubt front woman Gwen Stefani and the band’s bassist Tony Kanal. Together the two are slated to help the competition show’s top 8 contestants, prepping them for their April 4th performance, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Together, the contestants, DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Elise Testone, will all be gearing up to bring their own rendition of the perfect song in celebration of a night filled with songs from the 80’s.
This past Friday Stefani and Kanal both spent time in the studio, helping the top 8 contestants for roughly five hours with song selections and their performances. Stefani isn’t a stranger to American Idol, last year she made an appearance to show off her L.A.M.B clothing line.
Aside from the news that Stefani and Kanal will be appearing on the show next week, the group has signed with Interscope Records. Watch the two on Idol this coming Wednesday on Fox.
