Alanis Morissette Records Tracks for New Album

Alanis Morissette burst onto the music scene with her acclaimed album, Jagged Little Pill, in 1995 and, since its release, she has won seven Grammy Awards, 16 Juno Awards and sold more than 60 million albums. 

The “You Oughta Know” singer has revealed that she has recorded 31 new songs for her next album and is currently trying to decide which will make the final cut: "I'll have to pick the final 12 - the Sophie's choice process of letting go of the ones that don't make it."

Morissette’s last effort was 2008’s Flavors of Entanglement and a lot has happened in her life since then.  While that album came on the heels of her breakup with former fiancé, Ryan Reynolds, this new one will be a reflection of her life since then which includes her marriage to rapper, Mario “MC Souleye” Treadway, and the birth of their child, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, who was born on December 25, 2010.

The new album is expected sometime next summer.
