Adele's theme song for the upcoming "James Bond" movie "Skyfall" is scheduled for release on Friday, but a select group of press and radio representatives were presented with a preview of the tune on Monday.

That one-minute-forty-five-second-long snippet wasn't supposed to be heard by general public until its premiere date, but it somehow surfaced online on free audio distribution platform Soundcloud on Tuesday. As soon as the word spread, management of that website took notice and blocked the audio clip. However, it had been copied and transferred to YouTube and other similar sites by then.

The initial response of those who have heard the leaked preview is quite positive and it is being said that Adele has done a great job without compromising the traditional sound of the Bond theme.

"Skyfall" theme song was recorded in London's famed Abbey Road Studios and a 77-piece orchestra has been used in its musical making. The song marked the first time that Adele has recorded some new stuff since releasing "21," her highly acclaimed sophomore album of 2011.

"Skyfall" the movie, which will be the twenty-third instalment of the James Bond series, is scheduled for a UK-wide release on October 22. Its worldwide theatrical release though, will happen on November 9.

Here is the leaked preview of Adele's "Skyfall" James Bond theme for your pleasure:
