Adam Lambert Might Be Singing With Queen

Reports of Adam Lambert fronting Queen for a live performance have been floating around for a few months. Lambert, however, recently confirmed the news to U.K. paper Daily Star that he’s singing with the band at Sonisphere. About plans to sing with the group, he said: “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”

The singer has already worked with Queen’s remaining musicians, first for the American Idol finale in 2009 and then this past November at MTV’s EMAs. The “For Your Entertainment” singer, on the other hand, has no intentions to replace Mercury. He explained to the newspaper: “After the EMAs, I heard faint little slithers of a backlash from people saying: ‘You can’t replace Freddie Mercury.’ But I already knew that.

“There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That’s impossible.

“The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honor and one I’m in no way going to shirk.”

In regards to performing with them, he went on to say: “Straight away I thought: ‘These guys are so f*****g rad.’ They’re a class act, so sweet and paternal and on a musical level really open to great new experiences.”

Although Queen and he have no plans to record an album, Lambert still thinks it’s an interesting idea. He said: “It’d be cool to record with Brian and Roger.

“Being asked to front Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen.”

Lambert, on the other hand, denies joining the rock band and says that the Daily Star took his quotes out of context. He said on Twitter: “Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context.... I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA'S. That being said, I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!! :)"

So, which do you think it is – Glambert fronting Queen for a show, or a newspaper misinterpreting his words? Roger Taylor even mentioned at the EMAs that they would like to work with Lambert again.
