Adam Lambert Goes to Sweden to Work With Max Martin, Songwriters
A major complaint about Adam Lambert’s second album, Trespassing, was the amount of promotion on American radio. A couple years ago, his singles pretty much got no play – in spite of the fact that the release turned out to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Lambert since departed ways with label RCA – with rumors saying they wanted him to do a release of covers – but now, he’s still looking for a hit. According to a Billboard interview with multiple Swedish songwriters behind his third album, that involves working with Max Martin.
Martin, for those that don’t know, previously worked with Lambert on For Your Entertainment.
Speaking about Lambert’s progress, one songwriter Tove Lo told the magazine: "[Lambert] came to Sweden, he's been working with all the producers, the little collective out there, and having a really good time. When you hear the fully produced stuff from the studio, that's one thing, but his voice is insane. I couldn't believe it."
Another songwriter appeared to anticipate a huge hit for the former American Idol runner-up. Joe Janiak said: "I think there are going to be big things on this record, because the focus is on really strong songwriting and performance and stuff like that. They're really locking in on all of [Lambert's] strong points and just making him even better. I think that's definitely going to be an exciting one."
There’s no title or release date at the moment. Are you excited for what the “Whaddaya Want From Me” singer will do next?
