Adam Lambert Facing Lawsuit

Season 8 American Idol runner up, Adam Lambert has come under fire and is being accused of knowingly violating American Idol rules Adam Lambert Facing Lawsuit

Rock singer Adam Lambert rose to fame in 2009 when he competed on America’s favourite singing competition, American Idol. However a lawsuit has been filed over Lambert’s participation in the event, saying that he was not eligible to compete.

A recent lawsuit is suggesting that Adam knowingly violated the American Idol rules when he joined the season eight crew. He is reportedly still under a Colwel Platinum Entertainment music services agreement and a co-publishing agreement, which he was under prior to appearing on Idol. The company has launched the lawsuit because Lambert violated their agreement during his career following his Idol success.

Colwell Platinum has been promoting a new Lambert album called Beg For Mercy, which Adam apparently had no idea about. After hearing the buzz, Adam himself commented on Twitter about the recent turn of events saying, "Beg For Mercy project is same as ‘Take One’. some songs I worked on 5 yrs ago and never finished. This release comes as a surprise to me…”

The album had been up for sale on Amazon and Lambert’s reps were quick to have it taken down. This is what sparked Colwel to take action. Colwel claims that Adam had entered an agreement with one of the company’s divisions, Welsford Music Productions and had performed and composed music with them from 2007 to 2008. Adam agreed to let Welsford use his name, nickname and biography in order to promote recordings.

The company spent $200,000 producing the recordings, only to have them taken down by Adam’s reps. Colwel’s complaint states: "Upon information and belief, Lambert, through his authorized agent and representative, knowingly materially misrepresented to Amazon.com in the 'takedown notice' that Amazon's promotion and sale of the Album infringe Lambert's rights."

Adam took to Twitter asking fans to reserve judgment until all sides of the story were released.

When Adam said "reserve judgment" I think he meant the MEDIA who have been running the story like he is guilty of some crime. PLEASE DON'T BUY THE BFM SINGLE OR ALBUM SINCE THESE PEOPLE ARE SUING ADAM. Why would anyone want to support someone who is gleefully trying to hurt Adam's career?
