On November 17, the 2011 Soul Train Awards were taped, and finally aired last night on BET. The event was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and took place at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. A tribute to rapper Heavy D aired as well, whichfeatured his close friends Doug E. Fresh, Goodie Mob, Naughty by Nature and Kurtis Blow. At the need of the tribute, they expressed, "We got nothing but love for you, Heavy!"

There was also a bit of drama on the red carpet when Keri Hilson was asked to pose with a copy of this month’s Juicy magazine. Hilson is rumoured to have bad blood with Beyonce Knowles and upon seeing her on the cover, said, “Yeah, who’s that? No I can’t do that, I’m sorry”.
